Danny Bulmer

Where are you currently located / living?

Living in Bournemouth, South UK

How old are you and how long have you been involved with photography?

I’m 30 years old and nearly 10 years I’d say!

What type of camera do you shoot with?

I’m currently using a Nikon D810.

What is your favorite photography accessory other than your camera?

I’d im shooting a skate pic I’d have to say a Pocket Wizard for a flash!

If you had to choose one lens which one would it be and why?

I like shooting with my 50mm if I had to choose one it would be that for sure! I’ve had other lenses and cameras in the past but the 50mm lens has never left my bag!

What makes a skate photograph original and unique: basically what is your idea of a good photo?

Location, lighting and timing! Obviously skate photography needs to be done by someone who skates…
timing is crucial and only a skateboarder knows what a skateboarder wants!

Name the first photographer that comes to your mind and why?

Rich West…. English Tog, great at what he does and has a rad front blunt! (I suggest getting him on here!)

What do you feel is the most challenging thing about skateboard photography?

The pressure of getting everything right the time they do it! It’s never nice saying “jump down that again”, “I missed it” or “the flash didn’t fire!!”.

References you have (past and present photography work) and/or your relation to skateboarding

I am a skateboarder! Have been for 15 years! Broke my ankle 10 years ago and got a little more into filming and photography.

  1. So good at what you do man, for yourself but mainly putting your self out for everyone. It’s true in what you say about being a skateboarder and knowing every last movement.

    So good man ✋✊
